Okay, you’ve probably worked with AI voices before. It’s inevitable. It’s less expensive, right? You can just plug what you want into a program and it’ll be way faster. Except when it’s not.
I’ve worked with clients who’ve found that using AI for voiceovers is a pain, and can take longer than just hiring an actual person. Learning the platforms can be tricky and time consuming, as can editing in post. Plus, as good as some of the programs are, they just don’t sound the same as a real person.

I also do the content writing (Web pages, About Us, App Store Description and Emails) for this upcoming site, but when it was mentioned that they needed a voice actor for an existing animated video, I asked to take a crack at it – and the client loved it. Both the script and the video were already approved, so to save them money, I worked within those constraints, which was NOT easy!

AMI is a media company that entertains, informs and empowers Canadians with disabilities through the offering of relevant ans accessible original content.
I volunteered with this amazing company for two years, my task being to read some part of the newspaper for their radio service. I got to deliver Northern News, entertainment, sports and even the grocery flyers! My main focus was to ensure I delivered clear, concise diction, pronounced everything properly and made what I was talking about interesting and engaging.
Bioware Tryouts
Bioware used to run contests where, when they were launching a new game, you could submit your voice tryout by reading a preset script for a character in their DragonAge series. If you won, you got to voice that character in the new game. Of course I wanted to give it a go, so here is a sample of me being upset about my cat, Lady Rosette going missing.
